PJ Doherty, CCIM
COMMERCIAL SPECIALIST, CONSULTING< BROKER IN CHARGE

Patrick was born and raised in the Chesapeake Bay area of MD. He began his real estate career as a banker in Las Vegas in 1997. He moved from banking into single-family investments and eventually into site selection for a multifamily developer. He obtained his CCIM designation in 2010. After starting Carolina Commercial Investment Properties, LLC in 2013 he began working with companies interested in relocating to the Cape Fear Region. He played an integral role in assisting the City of Wilmington passing the “Brewery Initiative”, allowing breweries to operate in downtown Wilmington. Patrick learned the inner-workings of Economic Development. Seeing the need for greater participation between economic development organizations and the commercial real estate community, Patrick began volunteering for UNCW’s Marbionic (Marine Biotech) economic advisory committee and the Leland Economic Advisory Committee. Patrick has served in the following committees for the REALTORS Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina: Chair of the Professional Development Committee in 2014 & 2015, Chair of the MLS Committee, and President-Elect of RCASENC in 2016. He is currently the 2017 President of RCASENC and serves on the Commercial Committee for the National Association of REALTORS. Patrick serves as a Director on the NCCCIM Board of Directors from 2015-2018. He became and instructor for teaching Commercial Continuing Education in 2016. He is a single father and loves surfing, cooking and traveling.

Kevin Henry, Broker
RETAIL, RESTAURANT & LAND SPECIALIST

Kevin has worked in a variety of positions in the overlapping worlds of real estate and finance.  He began is his career working in the appraisal industry in Atlanta Georgia focusing on commercial property and developments.  He then moved into real estate finance by joining a boutique commercial mortgage banking firm serving as Senior Analyst, ultimately responsible for the underwriting and closing of $500MM in financing.  Upon relocating to the North Carolina coast in 1999, Kevin secured his real estate license and began selling property, while continuing to secure financing for select clients.  His completed transactions range from vacant land and distressed subdivisions to industrial and special use properties.  In 2017, Kevin returned after four years in the US Virgin Islands, joining Carolina Commercial Investment properties and focusing primarily on vacant land transactions.  Additionally, he serves in a Business Development capacity for the mixed use community Pine Forest of Oak Island.

Oliver Evans, Broker

Oliver specializes in working with investors who are interested in land and multi-family properties. His attention to detail and can-do attitude has proven to be a vital resource to his clients.  Oliver is currently pursuing his CCIM certification to better serve his clients.

Originally from New York City, Oliver spent several years working in the advertising tech industry as an account strategist. Through this position, he developed strong marketing, analytical and solution-based skills. That skillset combined with Oliver’s entrepreneurial mindset, made a move into real estate a successful endeavor.

In 2019, Oliver returned to Wilmington, NC to put down permanent roots in the city of his alma mater, UNCW. Oliver started in real estate as a residential broker and found he most enjoyed working with investors by helping them analyze and negotiate deals. As a next step in Oliver’s real estate career, he has expanded his brokerage services to focus on helping clients buy, sell or lease commercial properties.

Oliver is proud to be a new dad and when he is not working, he loves sailing, surfing, golfing and traveling.

Gerardo Andrade, Broker

Gerardo describes himself as a God-fearing family-oriented man who is fascinated with all things real estate. He was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, South America. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from ECU, as well as the prestigious CIPS designation (Certified International Property Specialist). He is bilingual with exceptional fluency and proficiency in both English and Spanish. Gerardo knows the eastern NC very well since it has been his home since the 2002. He and his wife began their real estate investing ventures before Gerardo decided to get his Real Estate license to advance joint real estate investment career. After brokering a few deals for others, he realized his true passion is to share and apply his knowledge, experience, professionalism and creativity to helping others achieve their real estate goals. Starting in residential brokerage as a Realtor in February of 2017 he found himself working with several international clients from many different countries/background. Several of these clients sought out Gerardo’s real estate expertise with commercial real estate investments. In 2022 he decided to expand his offering of services to the commercial real estate field. Due to the firm’s reputation, he chose to join the well-known Carolina Commercial Investment Properties team. He is constantly growing his local client as well as his international clientele base. Karen Williams Burton, Broker

Karen Williams Burton was born and raised in Pender County until last year when she moved to Onslow County. She holds a Bachelor of Science and both a master’s degree and National Board Status in the field of Education. She obtained her Real Estate license in 2006 and obtained her Broker in Charge status in 2008.

Karen served Pender County Schools for nearly 27 years until retiring from public education. During her time as an educator, she also worked several years in real estate where she was a multi-million-dollar producer. She then worked with a private school as the Director of Curriculum/Instruction and later served as the Director of Advancement and Fundraising. Her latest role was that of Executive Director of the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce.

She served on the Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors for many years and also on the Pender County Tourism Development Authority board of directors. She was a past member of Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is an active member of the Association Executives of North Carolina.

A major focus for Karen while at the chamber board was economic development. Under her leadership they formed a subcommittee for this. Economic development is a passion of hers. She quoted in WILMA magazine, “We want to become the region that can thrive; that’s enticing for new business. One of our goals is to become a hub of information and support and to have economic consultants helping small business owners with business plans and marketing and listening to their ideas.”

Thanks to her commitment to helping area small businesses and her knowledge of the area, she has become incredibly connected and has become a resource to members of the communities that she loves. Due to her continued passion of Economic Development, her desire to continue helping others and her knowledge of both the Pender and Onslow area, Karen decided to continue her real estate career.

With her love for the area, her family background of real estate investing, and working with clients since 2006, she opted to leverage her skills as a Commercial Real Estate Advisor with Carolina Commercial Investment Properties.

She is a wife, mom and proud “Mimi” of two granddaughters. She loves boating, spending time with family and enjoying her coastal lifestyle.
